About Us

We are local people wanting to make a difference in our community in Bootle/Liverpool, which is suffering from a range of social and economic disadvantages which are being further compounded by the cost-of-living crisis.

Building a brighter future for Bootle, one smile, one step, one community at a time.

Our Aim

Our aim is to provide positive activities and services to Children & Young People, families and adults of Bootle/South Sefton and Orrell Park/Walton in North Liverpool. TIN is a grassroots Community Interest Company which was established in January 2013, we share our site and work in partnership with Northfield Sports Association and we initially started delivering a youth provision on volunteer principles.

Our Journey

Through various funding streams we have been able to widen our services and over the years, have provided hundreds of young people with opportunities to access positive activities at our youth centre, which is open of an evening and throughout the school holidays when we also access sporting activities at external venues. TIN seeks to provide positive activities and offers a safe place for young people to go, we address youth disaffection and offending behaviour to reduce offending, promote community safety and provide opportunities for young people to engage constructively in a range of projects. Our, free to access activities address enduring local problems of youth gang association and the absence of a local youth offer, that is affordable for the majority of local children, young people and their families. Our aim is to provide a service which will give them the best possible chance of making the right choices now, which will help improve their future life chances.

Following a major refurbishment and extension of our centre with funding from Sport England, Clothworkers Foundation, Burbo Bank, Steve Morgan Foundation and the government’s, Department for Culture Media & Sports, we offer a range of services for adults such as warm hub/community days, Information Advice & Guidance, educational and gardening sessions/workshops.

We have created a Forest School which we use for our health & wellbeing projects and have achieved Ofsted registration to run a Forest School Nursery so we can deliver early years provision, education, and support to children.
